Board of Directors Meeting Minutes ACBL Unit 503

Call to Order

David Merenbach, President of the Board, served as Chair of the meeting, called the meeting to order at 4:30PM and announced that a quorum of the Board members was present and that the meeting, having duly convened, was ready to proceed with business.

Approval of Meeting Minutes

Eli W. announced that the minutes of the August 9, 2023 Board Meeting were approved via email.

Celebrity Lecture Series

The next Celebrity Lecture will be a two-part series by Adam Parrish on September 23 and 30. There are currently 50+ attendees registered.

Finance Update

David M. for Marc C. discussed our financials. There was a Net Operating Loss in August and also negative Cash Flow for the month.  For the Year to Date, there is Net Operating Income and positive Cash Flow.  Both of these results are better than budget.

IFES Update

John S. gave an update on the status of our lease. A meeting was held with IFES representatives on 9/12/2023, and further discussions will continue to be held.

Special Events Update

Stephanie Y. gave an update on the two upcoming special events to be held at the club.

The Halloween costume party will be held on October 31.  Candy will be available along with our regularly scheduled 10:30am game and lunch.

The Holiday party will be held Sunday December 10, with a game at 1:00pm.  It was authorized to provide up to $650 toward refreshments for the party (appetizers and desserts).

The meeting was adjourned at 5:15PM.
