We know that the pandemic disrupted many partnerships and that many people are new to the Unit in the last three years.  So, we are working to improve our partnership matching capabilities.  Currently, there are two ways to find a partner to play bridge at our club.

Signup123 is both a reservation system and a partner finder. You can sign up for a free login. Once logged in you click on a game from the club list and then add your name, phone number and email, to the column on the right labeled “Find a partner”. You can do this for more than one game. Feel free to contact the game director directly by email or phone if you are having issues with the site or have questions.

Pianola.net

Pianola is a great way to match with a partner if you are flexible regarding what date you want to play or if you have a specific date in mind. Login into Pianola.net.  If you need a login send email to geraldinem@aol.com and you will get an invite to sign up for Pianola.  Pianola is free, just decline any offer to pay for premium when signing up.

Remember to add your email address into Pianola so you will get partnership requests as they are sent out by our members.

Finding a Partner

On the initial page for pianola after the login, across the top you will find a button for “Partner Finder”. Click on it to get a link to create a “Partner Finder avert”. This advert will send mail to all our members who signed up for Pianola.  Any member looking for a partner will respond back to you.

When you click “create an advert” there is a calendar and below that the game that you are specifically looking to play in. After clicking a game and a date click save and send emails. You can do this for more than one game.

Partnership Preferences

You can choose the people who see your partner requests. You can block people you don’t want, or select a specific set of people you do want. You can block everyone and then unblock the people you want, or start with the default, accepting everyone, then blocking the specific people you don’t want. To do this, Click the Partner Finder menu at the top right of the screen, then click Preferences.

Select your default preference, notify, neutral, or block. If you have changed the default Pianola chose for you, click the Update preference box. Neutral means that your adverts won’t go to people marked neutral, but you will see their adverts. Notify means that people will see your adverts, Block means that people won’t see your adverts and you won’t see theirs.

Scroll through the list to change your preference for individuals. Any settings you change are saved instantly.

When you’re ready to look for partners, Click the Partner Finder menu at the top right of the screen, then click the Create Partner Finder Advert button at the top left. Your name will appear in the Choose member field, this is correct. Select the game you’d like a partner for, then click the Save and send emails button.
