Follow Local Youth at the Nationals

August 6th to 8th the Youth North American Bridge Championships will be contested in Chicago, Illinois. SiVY Bridge has sponsored 14 players ages 12 to 20 for this tournament, providing financial support and special training to prepare them for the event. Root them on to victory and follow progress online by reading the daily bulletins.

Also at the Nationals, on August 8 and 9th the finals of the 2014 Collegiate Bowl will be held, with top prize a $20,000 scholarship. Through online competitions held during the past 9 months, the field has been narrowed from 16 original teams to four finalists and local teams from Stanford and Berkeley are two of them. Watch live on BBO as Stanford Coup (Erli Zhou, Adam Kaplan, Edward Z. Yang, Ling-Ling Zhang, Joshua Wang, and Emily Kelly) play in the top seed position. Three-fourths of last year’s winning Berkeley squad will also return. It includes Team Captain and SiVY volunteer Isha Thapa and teammates Armin Askari, Rebecca Wernis, and Entong Lu.
