We are still holding virtual club games online at Bridge Base Online (BBO).  PABC games are run by our regular directors and award 150% club-rated masterpoints.  Game results are available on our Game Results page.

Online Social Team Tournament pairings and results

Online games strive for a limited section but may have to combine them.

If you are unable to join one of our PABC games email your BBO username to the directors of the game(s) you want to play in.

Many thanks to The Common Game and ACBL staff who worked with BBO to make online games possible.  Thanks, also, to our directors for providing us the opportunity to keep playing during COVID.  And special thanks to Will Watson who implemented our games.

BBO Instructions

  1. Log on if you are a member of BBO, or select Register to create a free account
  2. Add funds with the “BB$” button
Please purchase BBO Bucks from bridgebase.com, not through an app which may subtract a service fee.
  3. Go back to the original BBO homepage
  4. Select the BB$ box and then Home
  5. (Updated 4/30/20) Select Play or Watch Bridge – Competitive and then ACBL – Virtual Clubs
or, Select All Tournaments and use the search field to find PABC games
  6. Search for games with PABC in the title. Games are listed 2-hours before game time
  7. Add yourself and partner, or find one at Partnership Desk
You need to know your partner’s BBO name, both partners need to be logged on at the same time to register.

If you do not already have an account with BBO:

  1. Go to www.bridgebase.com
  2. Select Register to create a free account
  3. Fill out your profile
  4. When you first sign up for BBO you can practice a little with their robots. From the Home page click Solitaire and then Just Play Bridge (this is free).

Your login name may be obscure (like “queen of hearts”). We ask that you also put your real name in your profile so people will know who you are when they click on your profile.

Make sure your ACBL number (no letters) is in your BBO profile.  (Select Featured Areas – ACBL World > Update your ACBL number).

Create a Convention Card in BBO. You can create one for each of your partners under the account tab. You can also use one of the default standard cards listed. BBO defaults to SAYC if you don’t specify your own card.

Why play in our PABC online games?

You will be playing with friends and people you know – regular folks from the Palo Alto Bridge Club playing community.

PABC games award 150% Black Masterpoints at Club Ratings. This means you can win up to 6.0 Masterpoints (depending on the game & number of players). The 50% points multiplier means that online club games award masterpoints that approach Club Championships.

Other BBO games are colorless and do not include the 50% multiplier.
