Points will be served on a silver platter over the next several weeks. The Super Silver Sectional Double Header is coming to the Palo Alto Bridge Center (PABC). On the weekends of October 14-16 and November 4-6, Unit 503 will be hosting sectionals where we anticipate hundreds of silver Master Points will be awarded. There will be both stratified pairs and team games. Reservations are recommended but not required. Sign-ups and more information can be found here.
(Note: We have agreed to host Unit 507’s sectional at the PABC on October 29 and 30. We will have a virtual triple-header of sectionals hosted at the PABC in October & November!)
October started with what we thought would be our last celebrity lecture of the year. However, Adam Parrish’s class on October 1 which discussed pre-empts was so popular we have added part two on October 22 at 9:30AM via Zoom. A special rate is offered for the two classes together and attendees get a copy of Mr. Parrish’s ebook, Parrish the Thought Volume 1: Preempts and Overcalls plus copies of all the slides from the lecture. The first class was amazing… I am anxious to attend the second. As always, more info can be found on our website.
‘Tis the season… or it will be soon. Our IN PERSON holiday party is scheduled for Sunday, December 11th at 1PM. This will be a charitable game and our goal is fourfold:
1. Play bridge with our friends
2. Recognize our volunteers
3. Raise money for the un-housed, and
4. Celebrate the season.

Beginning today, Tuesday, October 4th, the Alpine Bridge Club will re-launch a junior game! (Points based not aged based) This is a great opportunity to get used to being back in the club (or as first introduction to PABC). In this group, you will be allowed ask questions regarding protocol, bidding, etc. Please call or text Prue Saunders at 650-464-3969 to make your reservation. If you need a partner, she can help you find one!
There will be a special 499 game October 31. $4.99 will include a certified game and a lecture by Lynn Yokel make your plans now. Less than $5 for a great lesson and a full game is a great deal! More details to follow.
