Our Unit sponsors Silicon Valley Youth Bridge (SiVY Bridge) to attract, teach, train and retain young players. The youth not only have fun but they also improve their academic and social skills.
Rather than starting small, SiVY Bridge quickly attained a critical mass of players and teachers making it easier to attract other youth and keep them playing bridge. SiVY youth have been particularly successful in National Events, qualifying to travel overseas representing the U.S. It is our hope that neighboring units will see SiVY Bridge’s success and start programs of their own. This has been done in our country (Atlanta, GA is one example) and other countries (Israel had over 600 young people playing in one tournament).
