Overview

The following instructions assume you are using the directors computer at the Bridge Center and the report or data file has already been generated. Following them are suggestions for using a different computer.

The hand records or deal file must not be uploaded to the website before your game to prevent premature access to them.

Uploading the ACBLScore game results

Uploading ACBLScore game results to our website deletes all ACBLScore game result files on the Director’s computer. If you are reporting more than one game you must generate and upload the game results for each game before generating and uploading the game results for the next game.

  • If still within ACBLScore: Quit ACBLScore or press the CRTL and ESC keys at the same time to go to the Windows desktop.
  • Start Firefox or Internet Explorer. Make sure it connects to the internet.
  • Select the <yourname> Results Post icon on the Windows desktop.;
  • Wait until you see the Press any key to continue message and then press Enter.
  • Go to the Game Results page of our website using Firefox or Internet Explorer and ensure that the game results were properly transfered.

Uploading the Deal File

  • Find the Deal file on the computer (it is probably easiest if you saved this on the desktop)
  • Left click on the Deal file and, while holding the mouse button down, drag it to the Upload HR icon for your game. Release the mouse.
  • Go to the Game Results page of our website using Firefox or Internet Explorer and ensure that the Deal file was properly transfered.

Uploading the Hand Record

  • If still within ACBLScore: Quit ACBLScore or press the CRTL and ESC keys at the same time to go to the Windows desktop.
  • Put the hand record on the director’s computer. If it’s on a USB memory stick connect the memory stick to the director’s computer and either move it to the computer or leave it on the memory stick.
  • Edit the name of the hand record file so that it has the same name as your Game Results file except it starts with an H and ends with .pdf (or .PDF) instead of .TXT. For example, the hand record for the March 14, 2009, afternoon game should be named H090314A.pdf.
    • Move the cursor over the copy of your file that you just made and hold it there until the name is highlighted.
    • Right click on the file and select Rename
    • Rename the file
  • Left click on the Hand Report and, while holding the mouse button down, drag it to the Upload HR icon for your game. Release the mouse.
  • Go to the Game Results page of our website using Firefox or Internet Explorer and ensure that the hand record was properly transfered.

Uploading a Lesson

  • Find the Lesson file on the computer (it is probably easiest if you saved this on the desktop)
  • Left click on the Lesson file and, while holding the mouse button down, drag it to the Upload HR icon for your game. Release the mouse.
  • Go to the Game Results page of our website using Firefox or Internet Explorer and ensure that the Lesson file was properly transfered.

Uploading the Recap (was Contracts) Report

  • If still within ACBLScore: Quit ACBLScore or press the CRTL and ESC keys at the same time to go to the Windows desktop.
  • Find the Recap Report on the computer (it is probably easiest if you saved this on the desktop).
  • Left click on the Recap Report and, while holding the mouse button down, drag it to the Upload HR icon for your game. Release the mouse.
  • Go to the Game Results page of our website using Firefox or Internet Explorer and ensure that the game Recap Report was properly transfered.

Uploading using a different computer

If you want to use your own computer you can use a number of programs to do this:

  • A basic FTP program such as FileZilla
  • A more automated FTP program such as Fling. We recommend this method to avoid problems.

Whichever program you use, you will need to obtain data about our website from Alan T. in order to configure the program properly.
