The Royal STaC is running all week! Come to the Palo Alto Bridge Center (PABC) this week to win 25% gold, 25% red, 25% silver and 25% black points. Club game results are compared to the whole of the Western Conference so you could win big! Games are held daily and on Wednesday night. Reservations are encouraged, but not required.
The Firecracker is going to be bigger than ever this July 5th through 9th. We have dual sanctions so Non-Life Masters will be able to earn Gold in the NLM Regional while all the traditional open games will be played in the Open Sectional. The fliers with detailed schedules for both can be found here.
An event like the Firecracker is a labor of love for its co-chairs Gerry MacDonald and Marc Cervillino. And lucky for you, they are happy to share the love (and the labor). People are needed to help publicize the event, organize in advance and work single or multiple days during the tournament.
The Celebrity Lecture Series returned April 22nd with Barbara Seagram. Barbara was both engaging and educational. 116 people learned how to “Follow the Clues” to better declarer play. Next up , on June 24th, is Michael Berkowitz on “Slam bidding with BIG Distributional Values”. An email regarding registration details will be forthcoming shortly.
The April free lecture and $4.99 game was postponed because there were few advance sign-ups. Lynn Yokel will do her highly regarded “four hand” class in May. We are looking for a date… email to come out soon.
Last month the ACBL was having some IT issues and had not shared the list of new ACBL ranks achieved. This month we recognized two month’s worth of achievements. On behalf of the Unit 503 membership, I would like to congratulate all Unit 503 members who achieved a new ACBL Rank in March or April.
