For the fifth year, Celebrity Bridge webinars for the Peninsula bridge community are coming in 2026.  Last year we offered on-line lectures by noted teachers Amber Lin, Adam Parrish,  Barbara Seagram, Michael Berkowitz and an in-person lecture by Robert Todd.  In prior years we hosted a number of famous bridge teachers at our bridge center including, Larry Cohen, Barbara Seagram, Jerry Helms, Eddie Kantar, Donna Compton and Robert Todd.

In 2026, we will be providing five webinars.  These seminars will be held online on Zoom or in-person.  Zoom registration will include access to a recording of the session and any materials used; therefore, you don’t have to attend to get the benefit.  In-person registration will include class material.

Our current schedule is:

  • January 24 – Amber Lin:  How to Defend Against 3NT
  • April 11 – Adam Parrish: Planning the Play in NT
  • June 20 – Barbara Seagram:  Stripped and Cornered – End Play Magic
  • Other dates / lecturers TBD

Stripped and Cornered – End Play Magic
Barbara Seagram Webinar
Saturday, June 20, 2026, 9:30-11:30am PDT

Barbara Seagram is always a favorite of our celebrity lecture series. She is the author of numerous bridge book classics; including “25 Bridge Conventions You Should Know”.

This workshop will be a guided tour in fine-tuning your declarer play.  Barbara will show you how to create just the right situation at just the right moment so that defenders find themselves out of options.  She emphasizes timing, imagination, and the quiet elegance of trying to avoid finessing.  The session will be strategic and playful and you will be a better player by far just for attending.

This lesson will benefit Newcomers and Intermediate players.

Barbara Seagram has been the recipient of several awards in bridge: The Kate Buckman Award, given to the person who has contributed most to others’ enjoyment of the game and the Audrey Grant Award for excellence in teaching. She is a Diamond Life Master and a frequent speaker at NABCs. She has been named #40 on the list of the top 52 bridge personalities that have most influenced the game. She will be inducted into the ACBL Hall of Fame in July this year!

Seagram was a co-founder (one of two) of the Zero Tolerance program. Barbara’s most well-known book is “25 Bridge Conventions You Should Know”, which is now in its 21st printing and has been translated into several languages. This book has been named one of the top five best-selling bridge books of the last 60 years. It has recently been revised and reprinted.
