We want to thank each and every one of you who made the Firecracker such a huge success. We thought we would share some of the particulars with you. Here it is, the Firecracker by the numbers:
1 – Fantastic tournament with…
2 – separate sanctions to allow Non-Life Masters to compete for gold masterpoints.
2 – Amazing co-chairs. Thanks out to Geraldine MacDonald and Marc Cervellino.
3 – Members of Unit 503 who earned more than seven Gold &/or Red masterpoints in the NLM regional. Congratulations to Liz Koh, Kathleen Danforth and Ginny Strock.
4 – Unit 503 members who earned more than 30 silver points. Congratulations to Debbie Rosenberg, Edward Zuckerberg, Vinita Gupta and Ron Powell.
5 – Full days of fun at the tables.
11 – Sessions of bridge. (2 people played in all 11!)
11.2 – Gold & Red masterpoints won by Jackie Thomas and Thomasz Pawlowski who topped the NLM winners.
12 – Minimum number of units represented by players during the tournament.
Dozens – Number of volunteers who gave of their time to make this event a success. (Thank you all. Unit 503, the District and all the participants are in your debt)
21 – The District that was an excellent partner in the Non-Life-Master Regional.
54.07 – Masterpoints won by Michael Rosenberg the top recipient in the tournament.
62 – Percent increase in year-over-year attendance.
76 – Percentage of players who won gold and/or red masterpoints in the NLM Regional. (Congratulations to all, but especially those first-time colored point winners).

237 – Percent increase in Non-Life-Master participation.
350 – Days until next years Firecracker. Plan now for the tournament July 10-14, 2024.
498 – Gold and red masterpoints awarded in the NLM Regional.

662 – individual players attended at least one session.
2,597 – Dollars donated by attendees to the Second Harvest Foodbank. Many thanks for making a difference to the less fortunate in our community.
3,019 – Total masterpoints (gold, red & silver) awarded during the Firecracker (better than a sky full of fireworks).

We hope you enjoyed the Firecracker this year. We enjoyed hosting you. The Palo Alto Unit will be hosting two more sectionals this year: October 6-8 and December 1-3. We hope to see you there.
