We had an amazing Firecracker Super Sectional last week. I thought I would share the highlights with you by the numbers:
Limitless – Joy in seeing our friends face-to-face at the bridge table.
Immeasurable – Gratitude for Lynn Yokel and her team who directed the tournament.
2121 – Silver points awarded to ACBL members.
1096 – Days since our last Firecracker.
403 – Tables filled at the event.
364 – Players who received some silver masterpoints.
41.6 – Masterpoints won by overall top point getter Rory Xiao of Fremont. That is a lot of silver!
39.5 – Masterpoints earned by Unit 503’s Gary MacGregor during the tournament. That is still a lot of silver!
24 or 27 – Boards per session in the pairs games. (Exhilarating).
8 – Unit 503 players who earned more than 25 Masterpoints. Congratulations to Gary MacGregor, Makund Thapa, Frank Xie, Jonathan Yue, Cornelius Duffy (good luck in NYC), Robert Madalena, Will Watson and Michael Xu.
2 – More sectionals in Palo Alto this year. Join us on October 15 & 16 and November 5 & 6 when we again award silver points at our fall sectionals.
2 – Amazing co-chairs, Gerry MacDonald and Marc Cervellino, who led and coordinated this complex event.
1 – GIANT thank you to the 40+ volunteers who were the backbone of this event.
Zero – Reasons not to come back to the Palo Alto Bridge Center… you can have this much fun every day.
