Immediate Needs

We have a critical need to fill the followng positions. Please consider helping us by assuming one of these key roles in our team. If you can help please email sivybridge@google.com. If you are not able to do so personally, but can offer a recommendation, that too would be appreciated.

We also need volunteers in other capacities. Please consider volunteering.

Volunteer Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Learn the inner working of the SiVY Organization in order to identify areas where volunteers are needed

  • Communicate with the existing pool of volunteers to ensure each is assigned an area of responsibility that suits their abilities, schedule, and desires

  • Recruit new volunteers as needed to fill gaps

  • Communicate volunteer status to SiVY Board of Directors

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Organized, excellent communicator, persuasive and passionate

  • Computer savvy – able to use excel or equivalent to track and report status

  • Well-connected in the Silicon Valley Bridge community, good relationships with a large number and variety of players

Outreach Committee Chairperson

Event Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Design events held outside of schools. E.g., Monthly Pizza Party Play Bridge parties.
  • Coordinate all details to ensure they are successful.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Detail-oriented
  • creative
  • energetic
  • prior event management experience.

Kids’ Events Committee Chairperson

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team which designs and puts on monthly kids’ events, a key component of the success of the SiVY Programs

  • Create overall event schedule, design each event’s agenda and theme, and lead the team which produces the event

  • Specific duties of the committee include: recruiting speakers and volunteers, creating and sending invitations and follow-ups, designing agenda/flow, buying food, procuring prizes, producing a report afterward – everything needed to ensure the success of each event.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Self-motivated, organized, great leader, excellent communicator

  • Well-connected in the Silicon Valley Bridge community, good relationships with a large number and variety of players

  • Persuasive and personable

  • Passionate about Youth Bridge

  • Experience running events is a big plus
