Fee: $4. Includes pizza and snacks.

Casual Friday is an informal game of bridge with other youth players. It is not a tournament or a lesson - it's all about enjoying a casual evening of bridge, while getting to know other young players. It is held most Fridays with occasional cancellations due to holidays and local conflicts.
Casual Friday is for players who already know at least the basics of bidding and play. Mentors will be available to answer questions and offer tips if the players wish.

Casual Friday Policy
We want to be clear that Casual Friday is not a baby sitting service. Youth who attend are expected to play bridge, not spend the time on their cell phones, playing other card games or just hang out with their friends.
We fully understand that a group of young people can occasionally be loud; so can adults. But what we prefer is that they are occasionally loud because the bridge play has excited them. Will Watson generously shares the space with us on Fridays. One of the best ways we can repay him is to not disturb his duplicate game that runs at the same time or leave a huge mess.
It is always our intent to have sufficient Mentors available for Casual Friday. One of the reasons we strongly encourage signing up is so we can do our best to provide Mentors for those we know are coming. But Friday evening is not always the easiest time to get volunteers and it may be that some Fridays we simply will not have sufficient Mentors. We would like to hold Casual Friday on those days so the opportunity to play is there, but the youth who attend on those nights need to be able to be there with minimal supervision. For younger players that may mean they cannot attend unless a parent is willing to stay with them.
We find some of the players tend to get restless in the last hour. The 6:30-9:00PM time frame may be too much bridge for some, after a long week at school. If that is the case for any individual, parents should arrange to pick them up earlier. Unlike a tournament or class, at Casual Friday, there is no problem with arriving late or leaving early.
We are committed to having Casual Friday be a positive influence on all who are in the Bridge Center on those nights and your partnership in that goal is greatly appreciated.
