Michael Bodell

Michael Bodell has been playing bridge with his family since before he can remember, and has been playing duplicate bridge as a member of the ACBL for the past decade. He is a Silver Life Master, accredited bridge teacher, and regularly competes at nationals with many overall placings including 1st in the national North American Pairs Flight C, 2nd in the 0-1500 Young Life Master Pairs, t-3rd Grand National Teams Flight B, and 4th in the 0-5000 Blue Ribbon Pairs.

Michael works as a Director of Platform and Web Services for 24/7, a startup providing intuitive customer service experiences, and has extensive experience in voice recognition and multimodal systems. Michael has also worked extensively in the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) on technology standardization, including co-chairing an incubator group moving speech recognition and speech synthesis into the HTML standard and being an editor of numerous other standards.

Prior to working with Silicon Valley Youth Bridge, Michael has teaching experience though an after school outreach program teaching math in Boston. Also when still in high school he organized a day long student run district wide math enrichment program teaching to gifted high school students. In addition to bridge, computers, math, and teaching, Michael is also an avid reader and big time movie enthusiast.
